What we believe

Photographic archives matter. They hold community memory, civic identity and cultural heritage. Too much of that material sits offline where it is inaccessible, undiscoverable and at risk. We think that's worth fixing.

Every image has a story. A photograph of a tree is just that, until you know it’s the oak where Charles II hid after the Battle of Worcester. We built Corals to close the gap between what organisations know about their collections and what the public can discover to shine a light on the images as well as the stories behind them.

We’re not trying to be the biggest platform, or the one with lots of fancy features no one wants. We’re just trying to be the right tool for the organisations that need us.

The team behind Corals

The people behind Corals come from technology, archiving, heritage and the creative industries. What we have in common is a genuine belief that photographic collections deserve better than they usually get and the experience to do something about it.

We don’t just build the platform and step back. We work alongside organisations to help get collections ready for publication. This includes metadata planning, image structuring, categorisation and many of our clients continue to draw on that support long after their site has launched.

Becky has over 20 years experience working with organisations to develop and deliver digital services and strategies.

Robbie

Director

Robbie’s 25 years experience covers several sectors, and he has a background in cultural heritage, IT, digital media and professional services.

Paul is an experienced TV and digital producer and director. He is a BAFTA nominee and Royal Television Society winner.
